Usage Instructions for Mizani Butter Blend Fine Color-Treated:

Divide the hair into four equal quadrants.
 
Set the timer based on hair type.*
 
For tightly coiled hair seeking minimal curl reduction: 5-8 minutes
For tightly coiled hair seeking moderate curl reduction: 10-15 minutes
For tightly coiled hair seeking maximum curl reduction: 15-20 minutes
For loosely coiled hair seeking minimal curl reduction: 3-5 minutes
For loosely coiled hair seeking moderate curl reduction: 8-12 minutes
For loosely coiled hair seeking maximum curl reduction: 12-18 minutes
Wear protective gloves, use a tail comb or special brush to apply Mizani Butter Blend Relaxer® to the top (crown) of the back right quadrant or the most resistant area. Start at the top of the quadrant and work downward.
 
Using subsections of ¼ to ½ inch within the quadrant, apply the relaxer to the most resistant back quadrant.
 
Working clockwise, complete the other three quadrants in the same manner.
 
After completing the application, return to the nape area of the back right quadrant. Section the hair using subsections of ½ inch and begin gently smoothing the relaxer through the hair, from the scalp to the ends, using a tail comb, special brush, or gloved fingers. Do not apply excessive pressure.
 
Continue this technique through the other three quadrants until desired results are achieved. Do not exceed the recommended time.
 
Once desired results are achieved, rinse the hair with warm water. Keep the hair as straight as possible during rinsing. Rinse thoroughly until all visible traces of the relaxer are removed. Pat the hair with a towel.
 
*Overall recommendation, but please adjust based on relaxer strength, hair porosity, and density.
 
PHASE 3 — CONDITIONING:
Apply Mizani Butter Blend® PerpHecting Cream® normalizing conditioner to the hair and scalp. Distribute evenly. Cover the hair with a plastic cap. Do not use heat.
Leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse the hair thoroughly.
 
PHASE 4 — NEUTRALIZATION:
Wash the hair with Mizani Butter Blend Balance Hair Bath neutralizing and chelating shampoo, and rinse thoroughly with warm water. If necessary, repeat. Pat the hair with a towel.
